Roland Corporation has announced the opening of its first retail store in Japan, called the "Roland Store Tokyo”. This new store will provide customers with an immersive music experience, where they can try out and see the latest electronic musical instruments, such as synthesizers, digital pianos, and guitar-related products.
Following the success of their first retail store in London, which was launched to celebrate their 50th anniversary, Roland is now expanding this unique retail concept to music lovers worldwide. The Roland Store Tokyo will open on October 1st, 2023, and it will be a three-story store fully stocked with the latest Roland musical instruments. Knowledgeable and experienced product specialists will be there to assist customers.
The first floor of the store will showcase a variety of products, including synthesizers, digital wind instruments, DJ-related gear, accessories, and Roland apparel. The second floor will offer a relaxed atmosphere and feature Roland's best-selling digital pianos. In the basement, customers can explore Roland V-Drums kits and BOSS brand products suitable for drummers and guitar players of all skill levels.
Since the successful launch of the Roland Store in London, the company has been planning to open more stores globally, aiming to expand music-playing opportunities to music enthusiasts of all levels, from beginners to professionals. The Tokyo store will continue the "Demo-on-Demand" service, where customers can have personalized experiences with product specialists who have in-depth knowledge about various musical instruments. The store will also use Roland's proprietary retail technology called "Audience Specific Experience" (ASX) to enhance the personalized and enjoyable playing sessions.
Located in the vibrant Harajuku area, known for its fashion, art, music, and dining scene, the Roland Store Tokyo is expected to attract tourists from Japan and around the world. The company hopes to spread the joy of creating new music and cultural experiences to as many people as possible through this new store.
Gordon Raison, the CEO and representative director of Roland Corporation, expressed his excitement about the opening of the Roland Store Tokyo. He emphasized that Roland's goal is to provide an authentic and intimate experience for visitors to connect with their products and culture. Opening the store in Harajuku, a hub for music, fashion, art, and subcultures, allows Roland to reach and inspire more music lovers, promoting creativity among their customers.
